Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is an international children's literature award established by the Swedish government in 2002 to honor the lifelong achievements of authors, illustrators, storytellers, and reading promoters. The prize money is 5,000,000 Swedish Krona (SEK), managed and operated by the Swedish Arts Council. Awards are given to individuals and organizations to raise interest in children's and young adult literature and promote children's cultural rights worldwide. The award ceremony is an official event, sometimes attended by royalty.

Nomination (Candidate Recommendation)
