Description

Grand Prix of Literary Associations (GPLA) was established in Cameroon in 2013 and is operated in partnership with Brasseries du Cameroun, with sponsorship from Castel Beer. It is primarily awarded in Research and Belles-Lettres categories, requiring recommendation from literary associations or cultural clubs. The selection process involves pre-selection by Presort Commission (preliminary readers) → shortlist submission → final selection by at least 9 jurors. Accepted languages include English, French, Spanish, and some African languages; self-published works are eligible with association recommendation. Winners receive approximately 1,000 USD in prize money and media promotion, with related events (GPLA Essay Contest, GPLA Student Day, etc.) also held.

Criteria

  • Research and Belles-Lettres target new publications within 18 months of issue (follow each edition's regulations)
  • Works require recommendation from a literary association or cultural club
  • Languages: English, French, Spanish, and some African languages
  • Self-published works are eligible if recommended by an association
  • Judging comprehensively evaluates literary quality, research value, originality, cultural contribution, etc.
  • Winners cannot apply to the next edition (however, the same author may win up to 3 times total)

  • 言語の壁がある場合は質の高い翻訳・要約を添えること
  • 規程を遵守し、過不足なく書類を整えて提出すること
