Established in 1986, the Prix Sorcières is awarded annually in France to works of children's literature across multiple categories (albums, early readers, novels, non-fiction, etc.). The winners are decided jointly by the Association des Librairies Spécialisées Jeunesse (ALSJ) and the Association des Bibliothécaires de France (ABF). Eligible works must be written in French or translated into French. The award's categories were reorganized in 2018.
