Literary criticism award presented by the University of Iowa on behalf of the Truman Capote Literary Trust. Official name: 'Truman Capote Award for Literary Criticism in Memory of Newton Arvin'. First awarded in 1996, it is regarded as one of the largest annual cash prizes (US$30,000) for literary criticism in English.
