This is a thought-provoking and moving story of an old Irish farmer reflecting on his life and the important people who shaped the paths he took. Grief and loss early in his life led him to decisions that may not always have been the right ones. Has he redeemed himself? Has love won over resentment? Only the reader can decide. Strong characters, an intriguing plot and a real sense of the Irish landscape all add to the story’s charm.

One of the best books I've read, an absolute roller coaster. Funny , clever, devastatingly sad and ultimately a magnificent journey. Maurice is the old man you meet in the pub that keeps you enthralled, I want to have a pint with him and hear his story again. Amazing writing skills here from the author. 5 stars for you and thank you for this little piece of genius.
