説明
The Prêmio Jabuti (the "Tortoise Prize") is Brazil's most traditional literary award, given by the Brazilian Book Chamber (Câmara Brasileira do Livro). Conceived by Edgard Cavalheiro and first awarded in 1959, it honors authors, editors, illustrators, printers and booksellers across numerous literary and book-production categories. Over time the number of categories grew; in 2018 the award format was changed (the number of categories was reduced and Book of the Year began to be a single prize regardless of genre). The Book of the Year winner receives a special Tortoise trophy and a cash prize (author) and the publisher receives a figurine (as noted in 2019).
