Women's Prize for Fiction (formerly Orange Prize, etc.) is an annual literary prize established in 1996, awarded to original novels by female authors written in English and published in the UK. The winner receives £30,000 in prize money and the bronze statue 'Bessie' created by Grizel Niven. The longlist is typically announced around March, and the shortlist and winner announcement in June. Past sponsors include Orange and Baileys, and since 2018, it has adopted a family sponsor system. In 2023, the sister prize Women's Prize for Non-Fiction was established.
