Chancellor's Gold Medal is an annual poetry prize (English poetry) for undergraduate students at the University of Cambridge. Established in 1813, originally the theme was announced at the end of Michaelmas Term, works were submitted anonymously by March 31 of the following year. Winners receive the honor of reciting their poem at the Senate House. In recent years, the set theme system has been abolished and other changes have occurred, but the award continues under names such as “Chancellor's Medal for an English Poem.”
