Wonderful book on Mayan people and arts.
This is the best book I have seen on the Maya of Mexico and Guatemala. It’s available in paperback and hardbound, and HB is also available in Spanish. About half the book is color photographs, alternating with printed sections on culture and ethnography. There is quite a bit of emphasis on weaving, textiles, and clothing. If you are interested in the Maya and don’t yet have this book, you might want to get it while it is still available.

Well laid out; representative of my experience in observing and beginning to know more about the Maya culture and their unique and beautiful art world when I lived there in the past as an American student of Spanish language. Such a gracious, kind, and resilient culture. We must as a world community protect their way of life. This book is one way of doing so.

Fascinating book documenting Mayas and their ancient influences which still dominate contemporary culture. Am looking forward to taking a tour with the author in Chiapas.. He has done the Maya a service by encouraging weaving according to ancient patterns.
