Description
The Ananda Puraskar is a literary award given annually by the ABP Group primarily to writers from West Bengal, India, for literature in Bengali (poetry, novels, criticism, etc.). Established on April 20, 1958, it originally consisted of two categories: the Prafulla Kumar Sarkar Memorial Award and the Suresh Chandra Majumdar Memorial Award. In 1984, the Ashok Kumar Sarkar Memorial Award was added. In 2000, these awards were merged, and winners have been announced annually in the same month ever since.
