Description
Established in 1985 and named for Peggy V. Helmerich, the Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award is presented annually by the Tulsa Library Trust (Tulsa City-County Library) to an internationally acclaimed author who has written a distinguished body of work and made a major contribution to literature and letters. The prize began at US$5,000 and by 2006 had grown to US$40,000 plus an engraved crystal book. Recipients traditionally participate in a public program and an award dinner in Tulsa.
