レビュー
-
An absorbing book of people caught up in history, how they shape it, and how it changes them. Some get to where they want to go, some die before they get there, and most find the new world different to what they were expecting.

Occasionally a book comes my way that ticks all the boxes - riveting story, breath taking prose, informative historically. The way Nadine Gordimer writes is breath-takingly eloquent. Her characters display all aspects of our human nature as they deal with wanted and unwanted changes in South Africa. One of the most memorable and exquisitely written books I've read in years.

Interesting book about apartheid south Africa and some of its leaders and those trying to gain independence.
