Samfundet De Nio (The Nine Society) is a Swedish literary organization established in 1913, consisting of 9 lifetime members. The organization aims to promote Swedish literature, peace, and women's issues, and awards multiple literary prizes. Among them, Samfundet De Nios stora pris (Grand Prize) is the main award, awarded almost every year since 1921 (including early awards such as in 1916). The prize money was originally 10,000 Swedish kronor but has been increased to 250,000 SEK as of 2008. There are also other category awards such as translation prize, essay prize, Stina Aronson prize, John Landquist prize, Karl Vennberg prize, and Astrid Lindgren prize.
