Description
Premi Flaiano (Flaiano Prize) is an international Italian award established in memory of writer and screenwriter Ennio Flaiano, recognizing achievements in fiction (literature), film, theater, radio, and television. The first edition was held in 1973, and since 1974, the award ceremony has been held annually at Teatro Monumentale Gabriele D'Annunzio in Pescara. Since 2001, the film category has developed into the Flaiano Film Festival, featuring screenings and selections across multiple categories over a month from June to July. The film category includes the Flaiano gold (grand prize), numerous category awards such as director, lead actor, cinematography, and music, as well as special awards and career awards. Winners are selected annually in categories such as literature, poetry, and Italian studies.
